Memories of the Future documents the world premiere of a large-scale dance work staged at the Alhambra Theatre as part of Bradford 2025, featuring 80 community dancers from across Yorkshire.
Created in collaboration with Akram Khan Dance Company and Dance United Yorkshire, this year-long project brought the people of Bradford together to take part in a professional creative process and to experience the joy, discipline and connection that movement can bring to everyday life.
Void Fraction - Cylindrical Inertia - Julie Upmeyer, Mari Rose Pritchard
This is an experimental video made from rejected clips from a rejected idea which began as plans for a performance that never happened.
The project is an investigation of limestone as a window into deep time, present realities and future thinking. This ‘limestone lens’ has enabled the two artists to imagine the tropical sediments of the carboniferous and envision how contemporary actions (extraction, care, neglect, destruction, love, labour) might affect the materials of our geological future.
Our Fragile Earth - Angharad Price Jones, Lundsay Walker
A dance on film by Curiad- Theatr Clwyd's adult community dance company. Filmed on location at Bagillt Car Spares and the North Wales Coastal Path in Flintshire. Five dancers explore the conflict between industry, consumption and the natural world.
Amygdala - Han Myers
A surrealist film that immerses viewers through the ear canal and into the depths of the human brain. Exploring themes of hearing, listening, and monotony, this film challenges our perception and understanding of reality.Cocoon: A Car Accident and a Year of Amnesia - Petra Kuppers
A solo and community movement score that follows a disabled dancer’s ongoing healing from a car accident thirty years ago that left her with partial amnesia and a rearranging of her earlier memories. The dance uses sound, meditation, material engagement and community movement practices to track and heal old wounds.Out of Phase - Lizzie Johnstone
Travel through surrealist dreamscapes, where human desire for identity and connection come to life - blurring the line between reality and fantasy.
Grow Up - Tirion Liddell
Growing up, everything constantly changes around you, including yourself. This film explores the struggles of finding who you are.
FRAMES - Claire Marshall
FRAMES explores the surveillance, scrutiny, and framing of women in a post-feminist context as it works to dismantle or disaggregate the coherent body so that a whole person (a woman) becomes dissected, fragmented into a composite of datasets.
