Kinetic Sigils - Ffion Elmer

Kinetic Sigils can be defined as the combination of movement and dance with mystical, gothic and futuristic qualities.

Part 1 - Angel
This piece experiments with the idea of guardian angels, symbolising protection and shielding.

Part 2 - Cyber-tribal
Showcasing a digital-age quality, with precise, biomechanical movement patterns.

Monday Night at Lucky Chef - - Nia Evans

A couple dance under the warm glow of a spotlight advertising a Chinese takeaway. An experimental piece playing with improvisation, public interaction, and the space between public/private, safe/unsafe, pedestrian/driver, art and play.

Hiraeth - Mathew Pritchard

here-ay-th
‘a nostalgic longing for a place which can never be revisited’

‘Hiraeth’ is an exploration of belonging and nostalgia for a place or time that is irretrievably lost. Belonging is one of humanities most basic needs; it is a desire that binds us together and explains our affinity for the place we call home. Yet, it is a feeling of great complexity, which we all experience in our own unique way.

Maybe Never - Loana Isabel Pagani

Two strangers cross paths several times before meeting at a party. There, music allows them to dance and their movements travel to their previous encounters. A subtle play that remains unnoticed in everyday life emerges.

Still Life - Cabane Network

Chest fills with breath. Camera snaps shut. Mouth masticates. Camera snaps shut. Eyes dart, lips part, brows furrow, blink. Camera snaps shut.
Chest empties with a languid sigh.

An experimental reel capturing the moving stillness of photographs.

Knitting Fog - Jessic Lerner

Filmed in the former limestone quarry in Bannau Brycheiniog, three women respond to the land and each other through movement, witnessing and improvisation.

Herbert’s Quarry is made of 300 million year old rock formations and has a sense and sound of ‘deep time’

OUR LADY BLODEUWEDD - Anushiye Yarnell

In this new work, Anushiye Yarnell uses costume, text, voice, and movement to conjure the figure of Blodeuwedd – the hybrid flower-woman transformed into an owl, found in the fourth branch of The Mabinogion. Through this figure, the artist voices other fallen women, mothers and daughters, and feminine archetypes that manifest across time, borders, religions, and systems of thought, to explore the relationship between femininity and the construction of place.

Beside A Curve - Pauline Torzuoli

Beside a Curve was born from choreographer Pauline Torzuoli’s fascination with the delicate and inseverable coexistence of life and loss within the womb. Created in collaboration with videographer Tao-Anas Le Thanh, this film explores the body, motherhood, pregnancy and perinatal loss.

Content note: This film includes themes of pregnancy and perinatal loss and features nudity and a visibly pregnant dancer.
